Shimadzu was founded in 1875 in Kyoto, Japan and manufactured measuring instruments and medical devices. Research and technological development has always been at the core of Shimadzu's activities, and the company has been at the forefront of the development of chemical analysis technology. This is evidenced by the fact that a researcher at Shimadzu, Koichi Tanaka, received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2002.
Shimadzu devices are considered among the most productive and of the highest quality available. They produce e.g. liquid chromatography (HPLC/UHPLC) both with conventional probes and mass spectrometers. Also, gas analyzers (GC) and gas/mass spectrometers (GC/MS) are some of the fastest and most sensitive instruments available. Shimadzu manufactures many types of spectrometers (UV/VIS/NIR/FTIR etc.) and sells more such meters than any other manufacturer. Shimadzu manufactures atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), plasma spectrometry (ICP), and X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF)-based instruments for surface chemical analysis.
Shimadzu has offices all over the world. Their European center is based in Duisburg, Germany. There is a large stock of spare parts with all them available for express delivery.
Kemia's sales team can answer any and all questions about Shimadzu's products.
